Monica Teran

I graduated from the University of Texas at El Paso with a bachelor’s in education with a Major in Special Education in 2003 and later with my master’s in education in Guidance & Counseling in 2012. I have over 250 Continuing Education Units from the Texas Justice Court Training Center, University of Texas at San Marcos. I am certified to teach Special Education pre-K to 12th grade, Generalist K to 8th grade, and currently working towards my Bilingual Certification.

In 2016, I obtained my Principal Certification in School Leadership. I have been an educator in the classroom setting for over thirteen years and was elected to public office as a Justice of the Peace for eight years. I continue to be an Advocate for Education and Restorative Justice in my community and am an active member of several local non-profit community organizations
